Carbon-Block Filtration for Chlorine, Taste and Odour Reduction

The FLT-CTO-20 is a 20-inch CTO cartridge made from compressed coconut-shell activated carbon. It helps reduce residual chlorine and substances that cause unpleasant tastes and odours, while also filtering suspended particles such as sediment and rust in compatible water-treatment systems.

Practical Cartridge Design

• Compressed carbon block: Combines activated-carbon adsorption with particle filtration.
• Mesh-covered body: An outer covering surrounds the carbon block.
• Flat end caps and sealing pads: Designed to seat in a matching filter housing; check the end profile and seals before ordering.

System Compatibility

Suitable for water purifiers, RO systems and filtration equipment that accept this cartridge format. It is commonly installed as the third stage in compatible multi-stage systems, after sediment filtration and a UDF granular carbon stage, according to the system design. A nominal 20-inch size alone does not guarantee a fit; compare dimensions and sealing arrangements with the existing cartridge.

Installation and Flushing

Isolate the water supply and depressurise the housing before replacement. Remove protective wrapping, seat the cartridge and seals correctly, and check for leaks after restoring the supply. Flush the new cartridge according to the system instructions until the water runs clear before use. Do not use the initial flushing water for drinking or cooking.

Replacement Guidance

The suggested replacement interval is 6–8 months. Actual service life depends on water quality and consumption. Replace sooner if taste or odour returns, or if flow declines. Flushing does not restore an exhausted carbon block’s adsorption capacity.
